Mississippi State University supports the humane use of animals in research, teaching and testing.  The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee is responsible for ensuring that all animals used in research, teaching, and testing procedures are treated humanely and in accordance with the Federal Animal Welfare Act, the PHS “Policy on the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals,” the NIH Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and all other applicable government regulations.

If you witness or suspect any violations of these regulations or have questions or concerns about the specific use of animals in association with Mississippi State University, you are encouraged to contact:

Reports will be handled confidentially and may be submitted anonymously.  All reports will be reviewed by the committee.  No employee or student of the University will be subject to reprisal for reporting suspected violations.
